The LG Dare VX9700 at first look is similar to an iPhone. It has a large, resistive touch surface, silver sides, buttons, and port covers. There are two sensors on the top margin; a proximity sensor which helps the phone determine the touch sensitivity when there are calls, and a light sensor that controls the brightness of the backlight.

The screen is 3 inches, slightly smaller than the Instinct and Iphone but its bigger than the Voyager and Glyde. When you turn the phone from vertical to horizontal while looking at pictues or the internet the screen will automatically rotate with it, much like the iphone.

At first glance, the T-Mobile G1 doesn’t seem to merit much attention. It looks like just another bland, HTC-manufactured phone. But use the G1–the first phone to run Google’s Android Operating System - for 5 minutes, and you’ll start to see why it’s one of the best-designed phones you can buy. Not only is the G1 intuitive to use, but its customization options (via Android) makes it a tweaker’s delight.

Industrial design: The first thing that strikes you about the G1 design is its well, surprising “design.” The device is a kind of charming, retro-future look. The smooth, round edges make the phone seem eminently approachable, and HTC (and design partner Google) forgo single-button simplicity for functionality, dotting the phone with all manner of hardware controls.

Is this a camera or a phone? The answer is, of course, both, although it certainly looks more like the former. Samsung’s new 8 megapixel Memoir is to be carried by T-Mobile, and is the touch screen successor to the Samsung Behold, itself a passable 5MP shooter.

The handset looks to be a North American edition of Samsung Pixon, so T-Mobile’s customers will almost certainly be happy when (and if) it becomes available.
